Daiki Kumakura

I am a mathematical biologist with a Ph.D. in Life Science. Since April 2025, I have worked as a bioinformatics researcher in the pharmaceutical industry.

Expertise

My research has examined microbial growth, antibiotic response and resistance, and changes in microbial communities using mathematical models and data analysis. In pharmaceutical research, this work connects particularly to pharmacometrics.

Mathematical modeling

I have studied microbial population growth and division of labor, and the dynamics of resistance plasmids under antibiotic treatment.

Time-series analysis and state transitions

My work has addressed dynamic interaction inference from compositional time series and microbial community state transitions associated with bacterial vaginosis.

Microbial bioinformatics

I have worked on comparative genomics, microbiome analysis, and metagenomic analysis of hot-spring environments.
